Karanovic & Partners, in cooperation with local lawyers, held a briefing on the novelties of the new Labour law (Law) in Montenegro, focusing closely on the new obligations proposed for the employers. The event was held on 24 February and was attended by the clients.
The main reason for the adoption of the Law was the harmonization of Labour legislation with the EU acquis, acts ratified by Montenegro as well as the recommendations of the International Labour Organization as well as curbing the grey economy and more flexible relation between the employer and employee. In that respect, the Law brings about numerous changes as to how employers must act.
Milena Rončević Pejović and Luka Prelević* spearheaded the event, during which the clients had the opportunity to inform themselves about the upcoming new obligations implemented by the new Law.
