Presenting Montenegro's First Cable Car Initiative at international Cable Car World Conference

Elevating Urban Mobility: Insights from the Cable Car Congress 2024

From 4 to 6 June, the second Cable Car World Congress was held in Messe Essen, Germany. This event welcomed exhibitors, speakers, and legal professionals from all over the world, focusing on discussing possibilities for the evolving landscape of new urban mobility.

Our Senior Associates Sandra Perišić and Tijana Arsenijević actively participated in the congress, showcasing their specific experience on the development and financing of the Kotor-Lovćen cable car project, unique in the region as developed within the PPP framework. Sandra held a presentation on all aspects of the development of the Kotor-Lovćen cable car project, while Tijana was a panellist on the international panel focused on discussing conditions for financing international urban cable car projects with the PPP approach.

Both Sandra and Tijana played integral roles in the local legal team responsible for the project financing of the Žičara (cable car) connecting the coastal town of Kotor to the Lovćen National Park. This project, as the very first cable car initiative in Montenegro, marks an important milestone for the local community, and their insights provided valuable perspectives on the legal complexities involved.

Cable Car World 2024 served as a global meeting point for the transfer of knowledge on the subject of urban cable cars and their possible applications, regulatory framework and financing opportunities.  The event offered a unique platform for discussing innovations in cable car technology and urban transit solutions.
