On 18 and 19 April, the Association of Serbian Banks hosted its annual legal conference in Zlatibor, Serbia, with a focus on the activities – trends and traditions – of legal departments within the banking sector. The conference delved into the most current topics shaping the legal landscape in banking today.
Among the key discussions were the integration of artificial intelligence in the legal profession, emerging development trends for legal counsels in banking, collection and transfer of loan receivables and the complexities of arbitration, particularly in investment contexts.
Our Partners, Maja Jovančević Šetka and Katarina Gudurić provided insights on guarantee schemes and non-performing loans. Katarina gave a presentation on the challenges and opportunities of the sale of problematic receivables, while Maja tackled the topic of transfer and collection of receivables secured by a guarantee scheme. Their expertise shed light on critical issues facing legal practitioners and banking professionals alike.
As the banking industry continues to adapt to legal and regulatory changes, gatherings like these play an important role in shaping the future of banking law in Serbia and beyond. We are honoured to have been able to support this event and to take an active part in it. Through collaborative efforts like this, we can navigate banking regulations more easily, ensuring stability, innovation, and progress for the industry.
