On 2 June, the Serbian Bankruptcy Law Association held the Founding Conference in Belgrade, with the aim to promote the association’s work and foster developments in bankruptcy law and related disciplines. The event featured distinguished academic and legal experts who shared insights on various bankruptcy law topics, including the European Union and Serbia’s perspectives, limited liability company issues, and diverse insolvency procedures, such as compulsory liquidation, assignment of claims, and others.
One of the panel discussions was titled “Business Challenges in the Digital Era,” where our Partner Ivan Nonković shared his insights. He focused on the implications, advantages, and opportunities of tokenized equity within the context of limited liability companies’ shares.
Our Partner Milica Savić spoke on the panel on “Annulment and Recognition of Arbitration Decisions in the Serbian Court Practice.” Drawing on her extensive experience in dispute resolution and arbitration, she offered insights into the interplay between bankruptcy and arbitration within the Serbian court system.
By convening such a conference, the Serbian Bankruptcy Law Association has demonstrated its commitment to driving progress and facilitating meaningful discussions in this area of law. It proved to be a significant milestone in promoting dialogue, knowledge dissemination, and collaboration among legal professionals and experts, as well as a stepping stone towards the stronger bankruptcy legal framework in Serbia.
