Our colleagues, Nihad Sijerčić and Nevena Tomić Lučić, Attorneys at Law in cooperation with Karanović & Partners, hosted a workshop “Deadlock and deadlock breaking mechanisms in the decision-making of small and medium enterprises”. It took place in Sarajevo, 30 September 2022, and was supported by the EBRD and EU. The EBRD representatives and Mr Kemal Sikirić, Managing Partner of Invera Equity Partners, also took part in the event.
Nihad Sijerčić, along with Zihnija Hasović, National Program Manager at the EBRD, introduced the meeting. The first panel discussed the ways deadlocks affect business and was held by Kemal Sikirić. The second panel was related to the legal framework and the legal practice examples and was held by Nihad Sijerčić and Nevena Tomić Lučić.
The workshop was an excellent meeting place for shareholders and small and medium enterprises management. Our colleagues shared the best international practices on mistakes in regulation of the shareholders’ relationship leading up to deadlock in decision-making and the best possible solutions. They draw the conclusion that the shareholders should rethink interrelationships in a timely manner, with the aim to effectively prevent any potential deadlock in decision-making.
