Karanović & Partners is pleased to announce that we have published the 16th edition of our book Focus on Competition.
Our newest edition of Focus on Competition provides an overview of the recent trends and developments in the Balkans and throughout Europe – what we can expect from the new EU Vertical Block Exemption Regulation, what can happen after the introduction of the new Guidelines on inquiries in Bosnia and Herzegovina, what are the main impressions from the previous 12 months on the state aid front in Serbia, and what we have seen from the recent enforcement practices of the Albanian competition authority against bid-rigging cases.
Within our ‘Inside View’ section we provide a brief overview of the recent probes of potentially anticompetitive rebates, we briefly analyse whether the regulation of fuel prices can be beneficial for competition, we review an important judgment of the Court of Justice of the European Union dealing with the liability of subsidiaries for their parent companies’ antitrust infringements, we provide an outline of the recent case law relating to concerted practices, and we provide an overview of the interplay between intellectual property and competition law through pay-for-delay.
For years we had contributing articles from the leading international law firms and renowned scholars – this year that is an interesting topic analysing the background to RWE’s dominant position in the primary electricity sales market according to the German Federal Cartel Office’s Market Power Report; as well as the views from the Scholar’s Corner that thoroughly analyses the question: is there disproportionality between the powers and obligations of a competition authority’s officials during the dawn raids.
Karanović & Partners wishes to thank all our authors – our cooperating colleagues who have invested much of their time in preparation for this year’s Focus on Competition, but above all, we wish to thank our readers, our clients, colleagues, and friends for being with us these sixteen years!
We hope that you will enjoy the newest edition of the Focus on Competition, and if you wish to receive a full publication in PDF format, please contact us at bd@karanovicpartners.com.
