Belgrade Summer School in Law & Economics

Key Takeaways from the International Students’ Workshop

The Belgrade Summer School in Law & Economics, an annual event organised by the University of Belgrade’s Faculty of Law and Serbian Law and Economics Associations, was held from 11 to 14 July. The school provided a seminar for a select group of participants, facilitated by renowned scholars. Attendees included international undergraduate and master’s students of law and economics.

The course consisted of six lectures, case studies, and student discussions. The lectures aimed to explain the main contours of relevant economic theories and analytical tools used to assess the implications of competition law on consumer welfare and market efficiency. In addition, lectures included practical examples of competition law implications in various EU industries through case studies.

On Thursday 11 July, as part of the extracurricular activities for students, Karanović & Partners hosted a lecture on “Competition Law – Serbian Perspective and Infringements in Practice”, for about 25 international students attending the summer school. The lecture was delivered by our Associates Sanja Dedović and Jovana Đorđević.

We look forward to traditionally welcoming the participants of the Summer School again next year.
