Karanović & Partners held a presentation about the new Law on Personal Data Protection on September 18 at our office premises. Senior Associates* Sanja Spasenović and Milica Filipović, lawyers with vast knowledge and experience in data protection matters in Serbia, talked about the key innovations the Law brings.
This new piece of legislation stepped into force on 21 August 2019 and is very similar to GDPR, meaning that the European standards are now a part of Serbian legislation and are applicable to all domestic companies.
Our data protection lawyers extensively covered many frequently asked questions about, both about the new Law on Personal Data Protection in Serbia and GDPR.
Some of the key talking points included major improvements compared to the previous law, similarities with GDPR and how will it affect Serbian companies.
The event was attended by over 70 representatives from leading Serbian companies, as well as legal and HR professionals.
