Legislation Update in North Macedonia

North Macedonia Implements Stricter Retail Price Publication Requirements for Consumer Protection

On 25 February 2025, the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia passed amendments to the Consumer Protection Law aimed at increasing market price transparency.

Starting from 18 April 2025, retailers are required to publish product prices on their websites on a daily basis, which will enable consumers to compare prices and make informed decisions. Traders of all sizes have this obligation, except micro traders.

The prices of goods placed on the market should be made available through the trader’s website in a separate price list section. The manner of publishing product prices is further regulated by a bylaw.

Retailers with multiple outlets also need to display prices for each location individually.
