After successfully closing two acquisitions in 2020, our colleagues from Ilej & Partners in cooperation with Karanovic & Partners advised PEARL Infrastructure Capital, a Luxembourg based investment fund specialized in green energy, in their third acquisition in Croatia in only one year. On 4 January 2022, PEARL acquired A&A Bioenergy Viro, project holder of a biomass cogeneration power plant in Virovitica with a net capacity of 3MW.
The target is an important factor in the local wood industry as it provides the adjacent wood processing facilities with heat necessary for timber drying operations and contributes to their supply chain. Also, the plant has potential to provide thermal energy to nearby community facilities.
