Croatian Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure announced that the government will continue the privatisation of state-owned airline operator Croatia Airlines after the COVID-19 crisis subsides.
At the beginning of the year, the government was ready to enter the second phase of negotiations with two interested companies. However, after the COVID-19 outbreak, the aviation industry was severely affected by the consequences of the pandemic and the negotiations had to be put on hold until the situation begins to normalize.
The Croatian government set June 2020 as the initial deadline for the privatization of Croatia Airlines and two international aviation companies expressed interest in the Croatian national airline at the time.
