Serbian Ministry of Economy invited people under 30 years of age and women entrepreneurs to apply for government supporting services which will be realised through the Serbian Development Agency and Regional Development Agencies.
The Government prepared two packages of supporting services. For young people 18-30 years of age, the Government offers support provided by professionals of Regional Development Agencies in the form of standardised advisory services, obligatory attendance on training for start-ups, one or more specialised trainings and monitoring services in duration of 40 hours.
When it comes to female entrepreneurs – companies owned 100% by women, or owned at least 51% by women, whereby at least one of the directors is female – the Government offers support as standardised advisory services, one or more specialised trainings and monitoring services in duration of 40 hours.
To apply for the supporting services, one must be between 18 and 30 years old, does not have a registered company, or, have a registered company (in case of more shareholders, the majority of shareholders must be under 30 years of age and one of the directors must be under 30) which has settled all its obligations related to applicable tax and contributions.
Companies that can receive support are companies held solely by a female, or by a majority of female shareholders (with at least one female director) and must have settled all obligations related to applicable tax and contributions.
Project concluded by the Serbian Development Agency is designed to promote entrepreneurship, gender equality, and embrace young people to step into the world of business. By making a positive step towards the diversification of business landscape in Serbia, it will be interesting to see whether the Mentorship of Advisory program is going to make a positive impact on Serbian economy.
