Karanovic & Partners participated in the Roundtable on Judicial Practice in Labour Disputes, organized by the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Serbia. This was the first event of its kind, discussing key issues in judicial practice in relation to employment law.
AmCham presented the results of their annual research on investor satisfaction, stating that judiciary and the rule of law, as well as improving the overall business climate in Serbia are their strategic goals.
According to the results of the research, furthering the business climate in Serbia is the top priority for 74% of the participants. The biggest obstacles, as seen by 84% of those questioned, lie in the duration of judiciary process, but also in the lack of adequate know-how and judge specializations in complicated commercial and financial disputes.
Facilitating Serbia’s economic development needs a more stable and predictable business environment, as well as stronger institutions in order to guarantee the same conditions and rules for all market participants. AmCham and the Serbian Ministry of Justice are jointly conducting a constructive dialogue concerning judiciary and commercial affairs.
Apart from the Roundtable on Judicial Practice in Labour Disputes, this cooperation will include other roundtables concentrating enforcement, bankruptcy, litigation, tax, IP etc. procedures with the representatives of the Serbian judiciary system.
