Patent protection itself is important, but the commercialisation of the invention is key. This was the main focus of the event held by The Centre for the Promotion of Civil Society held on 30 June 2021. The event was the final conference and the crown jewel of the Treasury of BH. Innovations project.
The organisation gathered legal practitioners, experts from the public sector, scholars and inventors and ignited the conversation towards the practical importance of patent protection. Nikola Kliska, Senior Associate and Nihad Odobašić, Attorney at Law in cooperation with Karanovic & Partners presented the Law of K/reativity project. Nihad and Nikola explained how Karanovic & Partners in cooperation with local lawyers are dedicated to the development of the local innovation ecosystems across the CEE. The Law of K/reativity is a guide that aims to cover the gap between artists, designers and inventors on one side and complicated texts on intellectual rights protection on the other. During the session, Nihad and Nikola pointed out the main issues that local inventors come across during their research and development processes, but also what happens once the invention reaches the commercialisation stage.
This was the first presentation of the guide in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and we thank the organisers for the invitation.
